Live wind conditions on Alta Lake

The prevailing wind on Alta Lake during the summer is a southerly. It is thermal wind driven primarily by the temperature differential between Whistler and Pemberton.

The anemometer is on our main dock 12ft above water. From our experience adding 3 to 4 knots to the wx station reading will provide a good estimate of the wind speed in the centre of the lake.
