Wing Slalom kickoff on Alta Lake

July 5th marked a new chapter on Alta Lake as we hosted the very first Wing Slalom event—and what a way to kick things off! With 14 stoked participants registered, there was a great buzz around the lake from start to finish.

Despite light and shifty winds from the southwest, we managed to get three races on the board. Racers zig-zagged through the course with focus and flow, navigating gusts and lulls with style. The conditions may have been tricky, but spirits were high, and the stoke was even higher.

Dillon dominated the day, taking the lead with a solid win on each lap. Watching him carve through the course with precision and confidence was truly something special. Francois and Fred battled hard for second, with Fred securing it in the final race.

One of the biggest highlights? Phil, just 14 years old, secured 4th place. A homegrown WSA sailor, Phil started his foiling journey about a month ago. Watching him hold his own among seasoned riders was nothing short of amazing. As he heads to Portugal with his family, we will be watching to see where his foiling and sailing journey takes him next!

A huge shoutout to everyone who came out to ride, cheer, and help make it happen. Whether you were racing, spectating, or supporting behind the scenes—thank you! Also, special thanks to Independent Grocer for supporting this event.

More to come! Based on the buzz, we’re already talking about a next one. Stay tuned for updates!
