WSA’s Wing Foil Instructors Soar to New Heights!

Whistler, BC – June 3, 2025 — This past weekend, Whistler Sailing Association (WSA) took a leap forward in its wing foiling program, hosting a Level 1 Wing Foil Instructor course in partnership with the Wing Foil Instructors of Canada. The three-day training, held on the pristine waters of Alta Lake, brought together a passionate group of future instructors ready to launch this exhilarating sport into the local scene.

Throughout the course, participants dove deep into the essentials: safety protocols, equipment handling, wing maneuvering, foiling techniques, and advanced teaching strategies. The weekend was a blend of intense learning and high-flying excitement, laying the groundwork for the next generation of wing foil instructors at WSA.

“We’re incredibly proud of our new instructors,” said Francois Hebert, General Manager. “They’ve shown an exceptional commitment to safety, skill, and delivering fun on the water. We can’t wait to share that excitement with the community this summer.”

A special shout-out goes to the enthusiastic student volunteers — affectionately dubbed “test pilots” — who bravely let the soon-to-be instructors fine-tune their coaching skills. Thanks to their efforts, WSA’s instructors are more than ready to help everyone from first-timers to advanced riders discover the thrill of wing foiling.
